Why London Changed to Ranked Ballots: TVO The Agenda

Air Date:

About this Video
Earlier this month, London became the first city in Canada to ditch the first-past-the-post system. When the city heads to the polls in 2018 for its municipal election, it will use ranked ballots, where voters will choose candidates in order of preference. Josh Morgan, London city councillor, joins The Agenda to discuss the decision and what other municipalities can learn from London’s experience.

It is just one poor choice after the other for this city. Watch for the College push in the papers, TV, and radio. Pay-offs have to be paid somehow. This town is become rotten to the core by leaders here. Did you know corruption begins with a “C”, just like Cambridge does.

You have a point there Tom…just read the Letter to the Editor in Tuesday’s Cambridge Times..Now people are starting to give the thumbs up to Conestoga College…Come on now people…
Yes this Corrupt City needs Ranked Voting…It’s the only way to go…oh wait a minute…STAFF DIDN’T RECOMMEND IT..so that’s why we will not have ranked voting in 2018…Seems we get the things STAFF RECOMMENDS and not not is best for the ELECTORATE…Ranked voting would put some of those SPINELESS COUNCILLORS we have out on there BUTT!!!!

Yes read the “for” letter in the Times. Where has that guy been? Does he not realize he is taking money out of the City? Does he care – guess not. But we must support our businesses – big or small. As we have repeated over & over – our Mall, downtowns, Hotels, Restaurants, etc. all need the Complex built central to Cambridge. IT IS A NO-BRAINER!!! Wake up Tax payers. As you can see – small businesses keep closing up – changes to our Mall Stores – another 2 Restaurants closing on Hespeler Rd. – please wake up and support the Complex being built in Central Cambridge. Don’t let Craig blind side you – he made a promise to Tibbetts/Conestoga – we Tax payers did not. Listen to Dr. Derek Coleman & others speaking on the benefits of building in Town. PLEASE WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. It really does not matter to me – I will never use it but I am thinking of the young people in Cambridge. And maybe those grandparents driving their grand kids to practice – they will not like that ugly ride out-of-town. Support our City & build the COMPLEX IN CENTRAL CAMBRIDGE. Conestoga is such a very STUPID IDEA – cannot believe anyone with a brain would even consider that idea. LETS SHAPE UP CAMBRIDGE & BE WISE IN THIS COMPLEX PLAN. THINK SMART! And lets get on with our COMPLEX in Town – not on the outskirts. Time to be smart about this location before too late!!

Ya I saw it and laughed. He drank the kool-aid. If the college don’t get it no one will. I’m the Mayor damn it. I don’t recall ever seeing this guy out to meetings. I knew they would do this close to the vote date. Watch for another impotent person to speak out soon. You might just see some with support signs at the meeting swearing, threatening and intimidating those that appose it. Look for some add to hit the paper as well as the air waves. Where the heck has the Chamber of Commerce been in all this? Could it be true that family jobs are at stake? More puppet politics.
