Time for Kathryn McGarry to comment on police service issues

As I read our MPP Kathryn McGarry’s comments in the Times Jan. 30 about Pat Brown, I shook my head.

Yes, his alleged dealings with drunk teenage girls was wrong (if it is found to be true). McGarry has stated a Liberal-driven “It’s never OK” campaign means exactly that.

The final dagger tossed by our MPP was when she stated, “We’ve been crystal clear that sexual harassment and assault in Ontario is never OK.”

This is all fine and I, as most, support this. Yet, Kathleen Wynne and Kathryn McGarry have both been totally silent (from what I’ve heard) about the alleged dealings of sexual harassment and assault within our very own regional police.

Frank Monteiro and Mike Mann, both city council members of Cambridge, are named in the affidavits. Not one single statement of how courageous these women and one man are to be coming forward, but both politicians said so only in the Brown case.

This has been a terrible blow to whistleblowers and victims within the powerful police service. Not even a word from our prime minister about the 237 pages of affidavits in the police case.

Let’s talk about it never being OK within the police, ladies, or is it OK so long as they vote Liberal? This is wrong and a double standard that needs to be addressed by Kathryn and Kathleen ASAP because “It’s never OK.”

IF @DAMATORECORD IS RIGHT, AND IT HAS TO “COME FROM THE TOP”

Do you believe it’s appropriate to pose for photos with Mann at a Women’s event despite the cries from your constituents?

As far as I’m concerned as long as these allegations have been brought out for the public to read and know about Councillors Mann and Monterio should refrain from being anywhere near a WOMEN’S Event..this is truly disgraceful , this shows a complete disregard for women and just casts another dark cloud of shame on our City!!!

This all comes from feeling above the law, acting above the law, and having a Neanderthal thinking pattern. I saw at council when Frank refused to say sorry to Liggett, using stupid about a case from Rande and getting away with insults for years. I’m not even going to write what people are saying around town about Frank and Mike because it is below my decency. I was just listening to the CBC and down East women are coming forward in droves about the police. The RCMP just had a huge case and settlement. We are talking about hundreds of millions of our tax dollars being handed out. I don’t know what Kelly knows but I have a feeling Larkin will stay with a demotion. Tom Galloway to me will be replaced. I do see women positioned or promoted after this. Until the police come forward and admit guilt, this will head to a revealing court case. I don’t see that happening. The public is shocked and fed up and with police. Remember….all cops aren’t bad. Of course Larkin and the lawyer must be telling the truth and everything is a lie. Right? I still agree with Margaret Barr that Mann and Monterio should step away from council. They don’t know it but people are whispering behind their backs and it aint nice thoughts. Flags went up but the mayor let things ride. Look for the mayor to distance himself and it is an election year. I can’t wait to speak with both ex-cops. As I said yesterday, in the next month the avalanche will begin. Larkin wants media and the public to remain calm, and give them some grace. Not when the Titanic just took a hit sir. It will be every MAN for themselves. As a citizen and taxpayer I am angry.

I don’t know how true this is or even at all but; is Frank stepping down? As far as our city council goes, this is the worst run city council I have ever seen. From the top down. I guess I can say that about numerous government organizations. Times are changing and we are in for a bumpy ride in 2018. Here in Preston I have to wonder if we are ever going to get any projects or money spent here. Galt has the unfair total of all spending and Donna and Mann need to come to our aid with only months to go before they are replaced. Four months to go till June.

O.K. Tom I’ll give you your “worst run city council” award but up here in Dogpatch I beg to suggest that we win the “worst run township council” award. See Luisa D’Amato’s column in today’s K-W Record and yesterday’s Woolwich Observer (it might be on-line by now).

Yes – we watched them painfully try to reduce the tax rate (well it looked like they were trying), but then reading in the Times about this $48,000. Sign -really – when is Council going to do this right. Please do the NEEDED items, then if money available – do the CRAIG WANTS. ENOUGH! That Bridge to NOWHERE is still to nowhere. We are supposed to be CAMBRIDGE – not Galt – but one would never know. PRESTON NEEDS A DAMN DAM – this is a need not a want!
Maybe Council needs to look up the difference in a Dictionary or hope that the NEW COUNCIL will know the difference.
Craig has gotten so out-of-hand with putting notches on his belt that he has lost sight of the true picture.
ELECTION 2018 – PEOPLE PLEASE WAKE UP & VOTE A NEW MAYOR IN & DO IT ON PAPER BALLOTS so your vote goes to the person you wish it to go to & can’t be hacked$$

I read it. Your people are slime and liars. After what I read about them when the pollution issues came out, the streams were void of life and finger pointing blame was wrong. Caught and straight out lies spewed out. Sounds familiar. The PC lady candidate of Cambridge lost her people…they quit her. She may still run but if she is no good for Margaret, she is no good for me. I am still undecided. Politics is disturbing these days. Then again a lot of things are. All we ask for is honest people.

Big mistake here by McGarry. The letter says it all.
