R.I.P.Gregory Michael MacPhee

With sadness and heavy hearts, we announce that Gregory Michael MacPhee passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the age of 68.

Greg was a loving, hilarious, and generous man with a heart of gold. He was always trying to make you laugh. He loved having family and friends around. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his siblings Shiann (Sandy) of Cape Breton, Betty (Danny) of Cape Breton, Allan (Mary) of Cambridge, Jolene (Sheldon) of Cape Breton, Wayne of Kitchener, Colleen (Cecil) of Cambridge, Blair (Raylene) of Cambridge, and Mary (Maurice) of Cape Breton; one son Greg and his 3 children; his companion and best friend Monique Rose and her children and grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Greg is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, his best friends Ty and Tim, and his cousin Wanda. Greg was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Helen MacPhee (nee Lynk), and his sister Alma Medley. Cremation has taken place, and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 8th at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Rd, Cambridge) at 11:00 am, with a visitation for one hour prior. The family would like to thank all of those who comforted and cared for Greg during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lisaard House/Innisfree House in Greg’s memory.

    I met Greg during Chemo treatments at CMH,with us both being from Glace Bay N.S. we connected instantly..


    My deepest sympathy to Greg’s family and especially Monique Rose..

    He was the gentleman that came over to our table at The Galtview…so sad to hear he has passed away..May he rest in peace and may his family never forget him and have great memories to share about him..God rest his soul

    I remember Greg. Polite fellow that was brave enough to face the end. RIP.
