Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, homes, and over the Internet. Each year, on Pink T-Shirt Day, I encourage all of you to wear something pink to symbolize that we as a society will not tolerate bullying anywhere. Take the message and remember it all year long.

It is so important that victims of bullying know they are not alone and there is help and support available. Wearing a pink shirt on this day sends a strong message to them that others care. Often, the simple act of wearing a shirt can start conversations – conversations can be a big step towards healing and helping!

Check out our permanent “Pink T-Shirt Day” page on Facebook to be informed for future years!

Kindness starts here!
A big thank you to the sponsors for 2018!

Bullying is also a big thing with our government. It’s all ego and power and the biggest bully gets the win.

Tom Vann February 8, 2018 at 3:39 pm

In my day you had to avoid bullies or workout or take training to kick their ass. The governments are behind this program as they are with harassment. They tell us what is right and wrong and now must put their money where their mouth is. It will be interesting to see if it is true with this police lawsuit. They jumped on board full throttle with the pride programs and their rites. Now let’s see how it works with the FORCE. My money is on the Liberals using the back door escape ladder cause votes are more important than doing the right thing.

    TIM J T February 8, 2018 at 4:47 pm

I have to agree with you Mr. Vann…This Liberal Government is just buying the votes of the public…Free prescriptions for those under 25 (that al crock of crap..I know someone who had to get antibiotics for their son and it wasn’t covered), more daycare for people, had to raise the minimum wage to !5. an hour.(I am all for better wages but it could have been a more gradual raise)..So the BULLYING starts from the TOP down…
There is a COUNCIL MEETING ON February 20, 2018 and this COUNCIL will be AMENDING THE COUNCIL CODE OF CONDUCT..I suggest that people SPEND $10. on a PINK SHIRT and come down to COUNCIL CHAMBERS wearing the shirts to let them know that CAMBRIDGE TAXPAYERS ARE FED UP BEING BULLIED by members of COUNCIL AND CITY HALL

Linda whetham February 8, 2018 at 4:57 pm

Please do not tell me Mr. Craig is going to don a Pink shirt to end bullying

  5. Debbie Duff Vitez February 8, 2018 at 5:36 pm

No…. but some of my friends walked into council on Tues night wearing them.. I thought Craig was going to jump out of his seat trying to read the shirts..
    It was priceless to watch..

    Maggie February 8, 2018 at 6:52 pm

I was disappointed that not one of them asked about the Shirts. The way Craig was gawking – doubt he had a clue. Would you not think he & others would want to know what was going on in this City? And be aware of the campaign???
Linda – Craig won’t wear one – he might have to stop bullying – Council – staff – & many others. It is his way or no way…………..
He didn’t like my emails to him – so bully him – cut me off – boohoo!! Offered to meet with me – I can just imagine how that bullying session would have gone.
Told him – not worth my time. He is wasting my Tax Dollars but he isn’t going to waste my time as well.
Yes people – get your Pink Shirt & wear it – especially to the Council meeting on Feb. 20th at 7 p.m. Be there! Discussing “Code of Conduct” – does this just mean at the Council meetings or outside?? I am confused as 2 of them have not followed any Code of Conduct but they are still in their chairs. Interesting.

I just put my pink shirt on with my pink Speedo. Can I wear that? Maybe seeing me in the Speedo would be called bullying. My neighbour waves to me often when I get out of the hot tub. She is so sweet. Her eyes are bad though. She uses binoculars.

Oh Gawd Tommy.. you are too much.. and we need more just like ya.. lol

    Amused February 9, 2018 at 6:28 am

Oh Tommy … wear your pink shirt, your pink speedo and pink knee socks..after all you want to be co-ordinated at City Hall

    Heather February 9, 2018 at 6:33 am

First let me say I like the idea of how people got together and wore those pink shirts to your Council. I think it is a great idea for people to be united in such a great cause as this. Many people have been bullied over the years and when I was growing up it was thought as ‘teasing.’ Interesting how it has changed over the years and has grown far worse. Bullying occurs in a lot of areas we would not even think is in the workplace and even in the minor sports venue. It is so sad that this seems to be the norm with a lot of things and people need to take a stand. If you think there is bullying coming from your City Council, take a what you have to do…get a shirt, put it on, go to Council and let them know you will not stand for this type of thing any longer

Tom Vann February 9, 2018 at 8:13 am

That is right Heather. Let’s hope funds raised for these shirts can do the right things. Mr. Dyke might want to find out why so many go off work. Do the WRPS really care about all the affidavits and complaints? I don’t believe they give a shit about anything. The taxpayer will be paying and the beat will go on after a public promise to behave. My being upset with all this comes from having 3 girls, seeing the good cops getting branded, and understanding what the government is telling us that it is not okay and must be corrected. This world is a mess.

    Informed February 10, 2018 at 3:30 pm

Heather – what do you think we have been doing for the last 2 years?
Yes we wore our “no bullying” – shirts – but the sad thing is – the Mayor doesn’t catch on. He has been bullying & controlling for so long – it is just 2nd nature to him.
Heather – please gather up your friends – anyone you can – with pink shirts or not & show up on Tues. Feb. 20th at 7 p.m. at the Council meeting.
There needs to be far more people paying attention to what is going on.
Did you know they were spending 1 1/4 million on a useless bridge? And now $77,400. on a very dumb sign. Who will see it – only people that work at City Hall or have reason to go in will see the Aluminum by day & lit up at night. Actually not safe to go downtown Galt at night – we saw that last week.
So Heather – we hope you join us & follow your own suggestion.

Dave Brennan February 10, 2018 at 6:13 pm

I live in Galt and it is nearly dead. There is plenty of reasons for this. The major one is due to the drug people.

    Fedup February 10, 2018 at 6:49 pm

And our Mayor – he is so busy spending YOUR money on items we do not need rather than looking after the drug issue – go-train – infrastructure – etc. etc.
Just make sure you get out & vote in oct. – we hear he is to run again – he hasn’t spent all our hard-earned money yet. We need someone against him……
Don’t you just love the Cambridge sign in front of the ugly City Hall?? $77,400. & who is to see it – really. And the BRIDGE TO NOWHERE – 1 1/4 mILLION – really – he has really been useless his last two terms. Voting was said to be fixed & could be again if people vote internet. PAPER ballots only.
Yes Galt is dead – oh but we have that 12 M. Post Office. Just goes on & on$$$$$$$$$ I am broke paying for his WANTS. There are MANY NEEDS HERE$$$$$$$

    Chester February 10, 2018 at 6:55 pm

Dave – you are so right. If the Mayor/Council had been wise enough – City Hall should have been at the old Knob Hill site. So central for all. So obvious to those travelling on Hespeler Rd. off 401 coming into town. Then maybe that $77,40. CAMBRIDGE sign would now make sense. That strip should have been central Cambridge – that is where it is all happening. Too bad our useless Mayor/Council cannot wake up & do some sensible things for the City. Who made that sign – a local company????
VOTE IN OCTOBER – PAPER BALLOTS – otherwise will be fixed.
David – show up at Council meetings & see how our Tax Dollars are wasted.

Tom Vann February 10, 2018 at 9:16 pm

We will not be getting the Go train or the LRT. Want to have fun…check out who donated campaign funds to Doug, Mann, Shannon, Pam, Carl Keifer, Donna and Frank. For even more fun check out the 2014 election campaign donations and add Price to it. Back in 2010 there were donations from lots of out of town big boys.

    Informed February 10, 2018 at 10:31 pm

Very interesting. Always more to find out in the corruption world.
The out-of-town big boys sounds ominous$$ Like builders? Makes sense….
Thanks for the heads up for next election! More of the same$$$$
The Go train we definitely need. The LRT can get lost!

Tom Vann February 11, 2018 at 7:29 pm

I have files on files of this. From donations, emails, to cut poles to personal stuff. The past lawyer was also a good guy. More coming as I prepare election signs.
