Celebrating Seniors Month in Cambridge and North Dumfries

Four information sessions planned in June: all seniors welcome

June is Seniors Month in Ontario, a time to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions seniors continue to make every day across Cambridge and North Dumfries.


“The wisdom and success of our seniors laid foundation for the prosperity we enjoy today in Ontario,” said Cambridge MPP Kathryn McGarry.


“I am always honored when seniors share time with me, telling their stories, recounting their challenges and successes. Our government is committed to supporting seniors, with programs ranging from financial assistance to health and wellness.”


It’s worth noting that in 2017, for the first time, there are more people over the age of 65 in Ontario than under age 15.


Kathryn plans to visit four seniors’ residences this month, to talk with seniors about their concerns and Ontario’s programs to assist them.  All seniors are welcome to drop by:


  • Wednesday, June 7, 2017 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Meadows Gracious Retirement Living, 208 Hespeler Road, Cambridge.
  • Monday, June 12, 2017 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Terrace, 255 St. Andrews Street South, Cambridge.
  • Tuesday, June 13, 2017 – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Granite Landing, 30 Light Drive, Cambridge.
  • Monday, June 26, 2017 – 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Riverbend Place, 650 Coronation Boulevard, Cambridge.

    June is gay month, june is seniors month. Lets fly gay flags at schools in honour of gay month and in honour of orlando shooting. Lets not fly senior flag at schools in honour of senior month and murders at Woodstock, is govt doing anything at the school level?. Educating young people to respect elderso or just gays.
    Also job opportunities and volunteer work assisting the elderly.
