Investigative Report – Misfeasance in Policing

By  | July 17, 2017 | 9 Comments | Filed under: Announcements
Good day,
You are one of 45 or so media contacts receiving this email from me directly.  I resigned from the Waterloo Regional Police in June as opposed to joining the Class Action lawsuit.
Attached to this email is a 93-page report I wrote about the systemic misfeasance in police management and coordinated suppression of whistleblowers.  Please at least read the executive summary.
I tried to improve policing from inside, and it became evident that that would not be possible, that I would be silenced.  So, I now endeavour to affect positive change from the outside.  I am lobbying police services board to hire me for training, policy evaluation and development and whistleblower programs – completely impartial and independent.  Without this level of expertise and independence, the misfeasance will continue, headlines will continue to include police corruption.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Signed,
Kelly Donovan – www.fit4duty.ca
This report was mailed to Justin Trudeau, Kathleen Wynne, Marie-France Lalonde, Matt Torrigian and Stephen Beckett the week of June 12, 2017.  It is also being sent electronically today to every member of the House of Commons (from Ontario) and Queen’s Park as well as every police services board in Ontario (where contact information was accessible online).

Holy cr..! I’m about to visit the website. This is long overdue with our Regional Police if it’s even a fraction of what I expect it is.

Oh my, oh my. Deb I applaud you for providing this 93 page report. I haven’t finished it yet but it is outstanding to date. All the dirty laundry of not just the Waterloo Regional Police but other Ontario forces is in here. This isn’t about “normal” police corruption such as bribes, payoffs, brutality etc.. It’s more about internal old boys network, favouritism, discrimination and bullying of officers sanctioned by management and perhaps even by the police union (association).

Deb you will receive blowback on this posting. That said again I applaud you for so doing. Let the critics read Kelly Donovan’s report and then try to defend her allegations and observations. My hat is off to her. This Report combined with the recently announced Class Action Lawsuit by female police officers may signal the end of this juvenile, old boys club sanctioned by our Regional politicians and allegedly independent civilian Police Board.

Puffery is one word to describe Chief Larkin’s comments and response in today’s Record. The less polite term is BBB or Bullshit Baffles Brains. Those who rise to the top in government or government controlled institutions require the gift of the gab. They are spin doctors supreme and just like politicians everywhere must be able to make lemonade out of lemons.

All I can say is…it’s about time. We know it happens, we hear how it happens but we are accused of conspiracy theories and more. We need change and people have had enough…in police, firemen and our government. Enough of the waste and the lies and the brain washing.

Enough with silencing us and ignoring us and thinking that this behavior will be able to last decades more. There will always be those who prefer to be led and believe what they are expected to believe and to keep their heads buried in the sand, but there are more and more that will take a stand because enough is enough!

Thank you everyone! Make sure to follow my social media pages to stay up to date and visit my site. I have a brief, 3 min, survey on my page to collect data to see how prevalent hidden misconduct really is. Facebook: @fit4dutycanada, Twitter & LinkedIn: @fit4duty_ethics
