Hacking Democracy is the 2006 Emmy nominated documentary film broadcast on HBO and created by producer / directors Russell Michaels and Simon Ardizzone and producer Robert Carrillo Cohen and executive producers Sarah Teale & Sian Edwards. Filmed over three years it documents American citizens investigating anomalies and irregularities with ‘e-voting‘ (electronic voting) systems that occurred during the 2000 and 2004 elections in the U.S.A., especially in Volusia County, Florida. The film investigates the flawed integrity of electronic voting machines, particularly those made by Diebold Election Systems, exposing previously unknown backdoors in the Diebold trade secret computer software. The film culminates dramatically in the on-camera hacking of the in-use / working Diebold election system in Leon County, Florida – the same computer voting system which has been used in actual American elections across thirty-three states, and which still counts tens of millions of America’s votes today.

In 2007 Hacking Democracy was nominated for an Emmy award for Outstanding Investigative Journalism – Long Form.[1]

And the City of Cambridge wants us to believe that they will make the 2018 online voting safe and secure for the voting public. Council even voted for it and a Councillor even voted for online voting BECAUSE STAFF RECOMMENDED IT!! Guess he’s not as informed as he should be when it comes to matters such as this which is very important to our DEMOCRACY!!!

Just wait…with all this information and facts from computer scientists, those who don’t want to believe the truth will turn it around to say it is nothing more than conspiracy theories.

People need to stop living with their head in the sand and stop defending the wrongs of our current government. If they were in the right, then they can defend themselves…but they wouldn’t need to if the lies would just stop.

If computers were so safe and could not be hacked, then why so much security and why is the news full of places and people who get hacked. It does not matter how safe they think they are when each individual with a computer can open the door to a virus or web crawler.

Cambridge is not invincible from hacking and phishing ploys…and denying the possibility will be mud in their face when it becomes a known reality.

you know Enuf you said it correctly. This council seems to think they are invincible and that online voting would not be subject to any hacking or phishing ploys. It annoys me that when sometime takes the time to be a delegate and goes before Council and states their concerns about a system of VOTING that cannot be proven safe and they just turn a BLIND EYE to it, it makes me wonder if they REALLY DO LISTEN TO THE ELECTORATE!!! I will say it again, when you have COUNCILLORS THAT VOTE BECAUSE STAFF RECOMMEND IT!! they do not deserve our vote in 2108 because they DO NOT I repeat DO NOT listen to the people to actually VOTED FOR THEM to act in OUR BEST INTERESTS!!!!!!
